In the depressing winter of 2014, Peaks Coffee Company was born in a snowy back yard on a cast iron skillet. Kelsey Ball and Samuel Bender began the company roasting on a cast iron skillet. In the spring of 2015, they upgraded to a US Royal Roaster #4. Roasting out of a garage, they sold to friends and family. Buying small bags of sustainably and ethically sourced coffee, a community was built in the valleys.

Kelsey Ball and Sam Bender have suffered from anxiety and depression for the entirety of their adult lives. Kelsey’s toughest struggle came during her senior year of high school, when she could no longer attend school and was placed on a homebound learning program. Kelsey’s father used to tell her during these days “life is about enjoying the peaks and enduring the valleys”.

On October 3rd, 2015 the dream Kelsey and Sam created together became a reality. With the overwhelming support of our community, Peaks Coffee Company opened its first retail location in the quaint town of Nelson, N.Y. We are focused on establishing friendships, both locally and internationally.

We offer a great variety of blends and single origin coffee beans to choose from.  They are constantly cupped and measured for quality which we are confident you'll notice and appreciate.  

Unique to our collection are the All Natural, and, Organic Compliant flavored coffee!  This "dry" process does not use the chemical base of propylene glycol commonly used in flavoring coffee.  It's also coffee grinder friendly as a result.  You will also notice a more smooth, and less bitter flavor profile in our flavored coffee.

Espresso Republic was established in 2010 with one goal in mind; to bring great coffee back to the people. Coffee is our obsession, our daily routine, our discipline and we want to share that with you. Details are everything to us and acknowledging the nuances in each coffee is our job. We believe we can pursue excellence from sourcing to roasting and make it approachable for coffee professionals and curious consumers alike. At the heart of the company is an incredible staff that is united together by a common passion for coffee. Each team member brings with them extensive experience working as Baristas.
