Due to Risaralda’s close proximity to Caldas, most coffees coming out of Risaralda including our new 11 component are brought to the Alto Occidente de Caldas Cooperative for processing. Alto Occidente de Caldas enables farmers to develop their production and processing systems by allowing them to gain access to agronomical education, water treatment resources and loans for equipment. Aside from enabling farmers with tools to improve the coffee value chain, cooperatives help farmers gain access to a greater network of buyers. We have been purchasing this coffee for the last three years and look forward to furthering our relationship with them.

Proyecto Cabañas began in 2012 with only three producers, a pulping machine and three drying beds Now it has grown to roughly 20 producers, most of which have farms on average of 2.5 hectares. Beginning in 2000, some of the residents of the Cabañas community began to experiment with coffee cultivation when they saw the success in neighboring communities. They began by planting Pacas and Typica, most of which were unfortunately wiped out during an unexpected outbreak of Roya, commonly referred to as coffee rust. In order to continue producing coffee, the farmers in the community worked with the Honduras coffee institute (IHCAFE) to replant their coffee farms with Lempira and other rust resistant varietals.

Interactions with Larry David on the TV show “Seinfeld”, led to J Gursey being the inspiration for the character “Mocha Joe” on “Curb Your Enthusiasm”. After collaborating with top chefs, studying under world champion baristas and master roasters, he and his team applied their culinary knowledge to each distinctive blend.

From crop to cup, our fair trade coffees are sourced responsibly from a limited supply of the highest quality beans available from regions around the world.  We meticulously choose and blend our coffees based on origin, taste and clean cultivation techniques.  The degree of roast is specifically balanced with the origin of the bean to create the ultimate experience for coffee lovers and connoisseurs.

Our proprietary oxygen-rich air bed roasting process distinguishes our flavor profile by utilizing the naturally arid southwest climate of Las Vegas, Nevada.  Each bean is gently enveloped in air as it roasts to optimal temperature. The resulting fusion is decadent, full-bodied, and deliciously satisfying.
