Alamance Kafee Werks is operated by Daniel & Kevin. 
Daniel: It was after visiting a roastery in Billings, Montana, that the process of roasting, integration of art and science became an instant obsession. Roasting as a hobby was exciting. As others became interested, I wanted to expand my reach and spread the enjoyment of coffee with as many people as possible. I've been to Costa Rica & Thailand,I became enthralled with what these regions are offering the coffee world and how coffee is embedded in the culture. When not working with coffee, I work as a school psychologist, primarily working on behalf of students with disabilities. Part of my proceeds go towards non-profit organizations that provide mental health supports for children with Autism and brain injuries. 
Kevin:While on a mission trip to El Salvador, a truly great cup of coffee was experienced. It has been through the introduction to roasting I have been blessed to experience once again a truly excellent cup of coffee. The taste that comes from freshly roasted coffee beans cannot be matched. I travel to Moldova and El Salvador to facilitate medical outreach services to those that would otherwise go without.

The word “ethos” is defined as “a manifestation of beliefs and aspirations” - and Ethos Roasters is a company that embodies our most noble aspirations to make a difference in the world through coffee.

We begin by sourcing the most socially-impactful, highest-quality coffee beans we can, roasting them with scientific care (in state-of-the-art 15-kilo and 10-kilo drum roasters, by PhD and MD holders), and packaging and shipping them as soon as they are roasted. We only roast on order (no coffee inventory ever!) so we can always ship your coffee just hours after roasting. 

Yet, our definition of coffee "greatness" goes well beyond high quality and unparalleled freshness - it prioritizes the impact behind each bean. In fact, our passion for coffee is only surpassed by our desire to make a difference in the lives of small coffee farmers (over wealthy large farmers or Estates which tend to dominate Specialty coffee). Our biggest success story is a small farmer Co-Op in Poaquil, Guatemala, which was able to buy their own coffee processing equipment in 2019 and continues to grow with us!
